To celebrate their 10th birthday, SNO!zone are offerring some bargain offers this autumn

SNO!zone, the UK’s only chain of indoor real snow slopes, is 10 years old this September and to celebrate it is launching a month of birthday offers.

Visitors to SNO!zone this month will have the opportunity to learn to ski or snowboard in preparation for the winter season with beginner and advanced level lessons available at selected times for just £10.

For those who have already reached the minimum standard SNO!zone will also be offering recreational time on its main slope for £10 per hour at selected times.

Families can enjoy sledging or ice sliding all month priced at £10 for an adult and child and warm up afterwards in the alpine themed SNO!bars at each centre with tea priced at 10p.

SNO!zone took over the operation of the indoor slope in Milton Keynes in 2000 and turned it into a hugely successful leisure attraction and sports facility. The business went on to increase the availability of snowsports in England three years later, when the second slope inside Xscape Castleford near Leeds was opened in October 2003. This was closely followed by Scotland’s only indoor slope at Xscape Braehead, near Glasgow in 2006, enabling SNO!zone to offer 26% of the UK population real snow within 2 hours drive of their home.

In the last decade SNO!zone has taught more than a million people to ski or snowboard and has seen nearly two million people using its 170m long snow slopes to practice snowsports all year round.

It has snowed every day at SNO!zone since opening and each slope is covered in 1700 tonnes of real snow, equivalent to the weight of 10 blue whales or enough to fill more than 30,000 wheelbarrows!

SNO!zone has also featured in some of the UK’s most popular TV programmes such as Big Brother, Cash in the Attic, Wife Swap  and welcomed celebrities including Justin Timberlake, Peter Andre, Heston Blumenthal, Girls Aloud and Heather Mills.

The slopes have also nurtured some of the best young snowsports talent in the UK sponsoring more than 60 athletes annually including Olympians Zoe Gillings and Sean Rose.

Regis Mosseron, SNO!zone Managing Director, said: “It’s fantastic that over the last 10 years  more than 4 million people have enjoyed the real snow experience without having to go abroad to the mountains or wait for the unpredictable winter snowfall at home”.

“Since we opened the first slope in Milton Keynes we have seen more than 1 million people learn to ski and snowboard and its fantastic to be involved in increasing the popularity of snowsports through our three centres across the UK.

“We’ll be celebrating our 10th birthday all month and we want as many people as possible to join in by taking advantage of our birthday offers.”
