New trophy is a collaboration between 'Art Rules' competition winner and 'Coarse' toy artist, Mark Landwehr

Axelle Dorado from Switzerland won the “Art Rules” contest, his winning design was revealed at an elegant gala event in Barcelona, Spain on May 21, 2010.

This new design will be the 2010/11 Swatch TTR Tour Champion trophy, representing the most coveted award in the world of snowboarding. In addition, a matching Swatch TTR wristwatch will be produced
and distributed worldwide.

In February 2010, Swatch and TTR initiated the “Art Rules” project celebrating the connection between snowboarding, art and youth culture. A global web- based art contest was launched to give the blank white trophy a graphic design with over 1700 people from all over the world entering the competition. The
concept of the competition will continue in the future.

In early May, a delegation of judges met in London for the difficult task of selecting one show stopping design to color the “Oscar of snowboarding”.

The jury consisted of the Swatch president Arlette - Elsa Emch, the legendary snowboarder and co-founder of the TTR Tour, Terje Haakonsen, the president of the TTR Board of Directors, Reto Lamm, the "Coarse" toy artist, Mark Landwehr, and Pascal Johansen, the founder of “Illustrative Berlin”.

The one design that stood out above the others due to its simplicity and controversial image was that of Axelle Dorado from Lausanne, Switzerland.

During the award ceremony, Arlette - Elsa Emch explained that the jury had particularly liked the “lipstick mark” idea because it represents the champion kissing his/her trophy after winning. Dorado was awarded with a two-week creative vacation in Shanghai including a visit to the Shanghai EXPO, as well as
transportation and accommodation costs plus pocket money for two.

Mark Landwehr’s “Coarse” statue will symbolize the creative and progressive element of the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour and the journey of the world’s best snowboarders pushing the progression of the sport. The 2010/2011 season begins at the end of June 2010 with the first 5Star contest, the Billabong
Ante Up, taking place in Whistler, B.C.
