First up is that infallible Yankee backcountry kicker slayer Jake Blauvelt has signed up with the mammoth goggle brand Oakley to be the name of a new line of outerwear. He's been with them for 10 mighty years already and reckons,
"To be a part of such a small and exclusive team is a huge honor. In my eyes Eero has been the most progressive urban and park rider for years now, and Eiki is following fast in his footsteps.”??
“I can’t wait to get started working with Oakley’s design team on my new outerwear series,” exclaimed Jake with a smile. “I have loads of techie ideas and knowing that I will be using products that I personally have designed will give me peace of mind when heading out into the backcountry.”
And a little closer to home, a great Scott by the way of Graham MacVoy has set everything in place for the Oakley Jib-Vid that will be returning to Austria's Zillertal village of Mayrhofen from 17th to 19th March.
The teams have finally been selected, apparently it was a tough call to make with over 40 entries of international level snowboarders and skiers. There's a good representation from the UK getting involved with James Webb, Paddy Graham and Johno Verity flying a GB flag with Animal, Rich Prendergast onside with Forum and GoPro, Tom Elliot and Tom Mansfield with Tea-Room and Unity Productions offering the full ensemble of Rob Embling, James Woods and Joe Tomlinson.
Arena nightclub will be hosting the party to end parties with Urban Knights confirmed to play.
