Jenny Jones went into yesterday’s final in the number one spot after she had led the entire field in eliminations on Wednesday. She stomped her run to take home her first Winter X Games Europe Slopestyle gold after already taking home gold at Winter X Games in Aspen in both 2009 and 2010 – the first woman from Great Britain to earn a Winter X Games medal.
“It feels amazing to win so close to home, and there were so many fans from the UK out there,” Jones said about the competition. “It was great to show my fans that the British can ride.”

Jones had a flawless run her second time down the course to take the lead, with big spins, frontside and backside 360’s and a frontside 720.
She had come out to do front 3, back 3, front 5, cab 5, straight air, front 7. Practice went well and she was landing everything. Her first run went a little bit scrappy so she made the decision rather than to move on to her harder run, to use the second run to clean up that first run. which she did perfectly, got a super high score for it and in the end didn't even need her third harder run (which would have been front 3, back 3, front 5, cab 7, cab 5, 5050, front 7 – but unfortunately she fell on the cab 7)
Winter Olympic bronze medalist (2006), Kjersti Oestgaard Buaas of Trondheim, Norway landed the silver and stomped a few tricks on her second run, but ended up losing speed. Even with a super stylish front 7 on the last jump she didn't have enough to take on Jones' run.
Switzerland’s Sina Candrian landed the bronze medal, apparently she has a back 9 up her sleeve but couldn't stick it in Tignes.
