One of the biggest independent competitions this side of the Atlantic kicked off today high in the French Alps.

Recent baltic weather has kept the park and pipe in prime condition and the snowboard slopestyle elimination rounds took place in a mixture of cloud, snow and sun.

The course looks pretty fun to ride and is loaded with features although speed did seem to be a bit of a problem. Jenny Jones set up strong qualifying in first postion while the UK's new kid on the block, Aimee Fuller, also had a great day.

Officially representing Andorra, Tyler Chorlton, didn't have an amazing day despite some solid tricks.
