Tue, 01/19/2010 - 2:01pmSnowboard Tricks: How to frontblunt switch-up

Right, we're getting a little bit more technical here, how about we give you a year?

HOW TO DO IT

1
Again you want to approach the rail the same as in the first two: weight on your toe edge and keeping your knees bent

2
As you approach the rail keep you knees bent, just as before, but wind up a little harder to help you really throw your weight into the front blunt

3
When you jump on to the rail, throw yourself over a bit harder than in the previous two tricks – almost as if spinning a backside three

4
Land on the rail in the front blunt position (with your weight over the back foot to keep it locked)

5
Because you span a bit faster on to the rail this time, you will now be rotating naturally in the front blunt position

6
As you feel you can’t hold the front blunt any longer (usually about half way down the rail) jump up and follow the rotation of your shoulders with your legs

7
This will bring you round to a back boardslide position, facing forwards.

8
When you put this down on the rail, bend your knees and make sure to keep your weight centred – otherwise you will slip out!

9
Keep your eyes focused on the end of the rail and keep your weight centred, grinding all the way to the end

10
As you approach the end of the rail start to turn back to regular, bend your knees and ride away looking kool as shit!
