….. we’ve been out to Moena in the Dolomites putting Polartec’s new Polartec Power Shield Pro fabric to the test [look out for it in Eider and Norrona ranges next season].
It was flippin’ cold - temperatures hit an all-time low – and there was a cutting wind but some pow on the Northern aspects and the skies were awesome.
Polartec used its sponsored Scufoneda event [a week-long Telemark comp] as a backdrop and even got some of their staff throwing themselves down the North Face. Nick Devore, a former Telemark Freeskiing World Champion (and member of Polartec’s Athlete Advisory Board) has been skiing since he was 18 months old and it showed. He’s inspiring and came away with a trophy and Best Trick.

Eben Mond – US – went huge (he bashed his nose on his knee on the landing, kept it together and skied across the finish line gushing blood. Luckily he was fine and joined the crew for a seven-course meal, Dolomites-style, at lunch).
We did some of the Scufoneda guided tours which they offer at various skill levels throughout the week. The groups split up for a few hours in the mornings and then reconvened for Prosecco, salami and cheese in the afternoons.

Oh, and the ripped pants? Let’s just say, a Polartec® employee double ejected on a narrow couloir and went for a wild ride to the bottom on his backside. After a quick visit to the emergency room and 7 stitches later, he was back in business for the party that evening and skiing the next day.
