I flew out here a week ago now with KLM – possibly the worst airline ever: £184 for my board bag! Not stoked. Other than getting ripped off for having
two bags the flight was great, we flew over some insane lansdcape on the way into Canada like nothing I have ever seen before, everything was covered in snow and ice.
I am here with the GB Freestyle team and we are riding at COP "Canada's Olympic Park". It's crazy, this tiny resort just literally off the highway on the outskirts of town, with two chair lifts.
There are three runs but the park is really nice and you can get lots of laps in which is great. It's the same resort as the '88 Olympics where the Jamaican bobsleigh team made their debut Cool Runnings.
I'm hoping to get a run on the bobsleigh later this week – you can pay for an Olympian to take you for a spin down the course! Sounds terrifying but a lot of fun!
We competed in the First ever World Cup FIS slopestyle event, the girls runs where blessed with amazing conditions. I finished up in 8th, just missed out on qualifying for the finals, quite pleased with my result for my first World Cup. My run consisted of a backflip into a 50/50 on the down rail, into a 50/50 gap to front board on the down box into two 360s!
Jack Shackleton put down a clean run to finish in 22nd place for the men and Jo Howard ended up in 27th.
Yesterday was a down day and we went into down town Calgary to do the whole tourist thing!
We went up the Calgary tower...

Tested the glass floor
Jumping...

Lying...

and ended an epic day at Tim Hortons!
