Heel Edge Projects

Lynsey Ashdown leads by example

Filming for Heel Edge Projects is well under way and we have all the best female snowboarders in the UK well stoked on the idea and out gathering footage for us from all parts of the globe, which is awesome.

Aimee Fuller, Laura Berry, Jo Chastney, Gilly Seagrave and Gemma Marshall are all out in Morzine killing it this season and getting the evidence down on film; the ladies from our first edit are out in Mayrhofen still filming as much as possible and the our riders back home are busy gathering indoor footage also.  I’ve also had lots of messages from girls just getting into snowboarding and freestyle saying how much they love the idea and how it will encourage them to keep shreddin and improving their skills which is just what we want.

I can’t write this blog without mentioning the awesome talents of our own Jenny Jones who recently added to her gold collection with a win at the European X Games. It’s an amazing achievement for her, for female snowboarding and snowboarding in the UK as a whole. I’ve spoke to Jenny recently and she’s super keen to get involved in the film project, which is fantastic news.

Myself and Katie Blundell have been further afield in America riding Northstar which if you haven’t been has one of the best parks in the world with amazing features that you just can’t help to fall in love with!  I fear it may be spoiling me a little though, Europe and our snowdomes are going to seem pretty small in comparison! We’ve been doing a lot of filming and have put together this wee edit to share with you. Katie just recently bagged herself the title of British Big Air Champion whilst competing at her first ever Brits in Laax – this girl seriously kills it on rails and kickers, I wish I had her balls sometimes!

It’s pretty rad out here in Tahoe right now, the sun is shining, the park is slushy and I just recently placed 2nd and 3rd in a couple of red bull rail comps from a series being held around Lake Tahoe. Claire Frost is out staying with us at the moment as well which is cool. Unfortunately she took a bad knuckle practicing for the chicken jam picking up a shoulder injury but its not broken so she’ll be back on it in a couple of weeks!

Big love x
