Mat Macwhirter busts out a little pole jam

In a series of updates from their winter we are talked through the exploits of the Westbeach team from their base in France

It's time to start filming for the next episode of the Westbeach Airtimes. We went on a mission in the backcountry to find a kicker spot and came across some deserted farm houses in the middle of nowhere which we turned into our own private backcountry park. Had loads of fun with everyone learning backside rodeos. And got some cool and funny footage which you can see in the next episode.

On a mission for another powder kicker spot we ended up over the back of Super Morzine. We ended up spending about five hours building a jump only to realise that the run in was harder than the kicker! We hit it anyway. Got some good shots and learned some new tricks including double backflips, double frontflip attempts and some steezy back 5s and back 7s from Billy Morgan. After all that it took longer to hike back out than to build and hit the whole thing!

A bit over a week ago, we decided to go back to a street rail in Montriond that we hit last year to get some better tricks on film. Matt MacWhirter took a heavy slam which left him out of action for about a week or so, but Nuddsy got a backlip and back blunt 270 so it was worth it in the end. On the way back we found a quarter pipe to ledge stall type thing and had a fun session on that.
